Naseej Implements the First Self-Check System in Lebanon at the Lebanese American University's Library
Beirut, Lebanon, February 1st, 2016 Naseej the leading provider of Knowledge Management Solutions in the Middle East has implemented the first 3M Self-Check System in Lebanon, at Riyad Nassar Library in the Lebanese American University Beirut Campus.
Riyad Nassar Library covers an area of 800 square meters and serves more than 1500 patrons daily; including students, faculty, and researchers. Presently, the Library holds over 300,000 information records, more than 350 current print periodicals and 7 special collections. In addition to 160 commercial and open access electronic resources (e-Books and e-Journals) and Non-print materials (e.g., maps, videos, slides).
On this issue, Mrs. Cendrella Habre, the University Librarian at LAU states; “We needed a Self-Check system that is compatible with our Integrated Library System, which can read magnetic strip, ID cards, as well as our collections barcode. We looked for an easy-to-use system that can seamlessly integrate with our ILS and Security Gates. Eventually, we chose 3M Self-Check System V-Series offered by Naseej as it ensures all these capabilities and more.”
“3M’s Self-Check System provides a large number of services,” assures Mr. Nabil Badran, the Circulation Librarian “such as user-friendly interface through touch screen wizard instructions with patrons privacy, and automatic receipt printing or sending transaction details to user’s email. Moreover, our librarians benefit from the system’s built-in statistical reports for usage rates and trends.”
The 3M Self-Check System V-Series offered by Naseej is a fast, versatile checkout solution, which is very intuitive as it virtually assures the success of first-time users. The system processes books, magazines, videos, CDs and DVDs and provides web-based remote monitoring and diagnostics tools.
